SEXUALITY AND THE CANCER PATIENT
Free Program Offered for Cancer Patients and Partners
LACONIA, NH: On Monday, June 1st, LRGHealthcare is pleased to offer a free program for cancer patients and their partners entitled, “Sexuality and the Cancer Patient.” This program will be presented by Steve Paradis, RN, from the Elliott Radiation Oncology Program, and will be held from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at Lakes Region General Hospital.
Beginning cancer treatments can be a time of great uncertainty for patients, and they may find themselves with many questions. One of the most common questions, and often the question patients and their partners find most difficult to discuss, is how cancer treatment will impact their intimate relationship, both physically and emotionally.
This program will be an opportunity to find out about how cancer treatments may impact intimacy and sexuality for both men and women both during treatment and long-term. It will also focus on helping patients and their partners communicate about the changes their intimate relationship may go through, and help them both deal with their feelings about those changes.
To register for this program, please call the LRGHealthcare Education Department at 527-7120. This program is presented as part of Managing Cancer and Beyond, a series of programs designed to support and educate patients and their loved ones during the cancer journey. For more information about other programs scheduled, please call 527-7120.
