Seasonal and H1N1 Flu Vaccine Information Update
After a brief delay in shipment, seasonal flu vaccine is once again available in our local community.
Seasonal flu shots are available through many local providers offices. Please call your providers office for more information.
As of Monday, December 7th, seasonal flu shots are also once again available on a first-come, first-served basis to adults and children over the age of nine:
- On a walk-in basis at the Lakes Region General Hospital Emergency DepartmentFast Track between the hours of 9:00 a.m. 12:00 noon; and 4:00 7:00 p.m., 7 days per week;
- At Franklin Regional Hospitals Infusion Therapy department by appointment only between the hours of 8:00 a.m 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. To make an appointment at the FIT department, please call 934-2060, ext. 8850.
Please note that the seasonal flu shots offered in Fast Track and the FIT Department are for adults and children over the age of nine only. For younger children, please call your pediatricians office. If you believe you may be in your first trimester of pregnancy, please call your primary care provider or OB/GYN to discuss this issue with him or her.
The Laconia Clinic has also scheduled a Seasonal Flu Vaccine Clinic for adult Clinic and Pediatric Patients only, on Thursday, December 10th from 9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m. For more information on Laconia Clinic flu vaccine availability, please call 527-2752.
Seasonal flu shots cost $50 at LRGH, FRH, Laconia Clinic, and in LRGHealthcares local provider practices. Patients who choose to pay at the time of service can access a 20 percent discount through our Patient Advantage Program, so the cost will be just $40. Please note that many insurance plans will cover a flu shot.
Please note that these are NOT H1N1 vaccinations. The H1N1 vaccination is currently available only to those at highest risk of complications from the H1N1 flu.
