Bay State Audio & Media Golf Tournament & Anderson Family Raise Nearly $15,000 for Cancer Patients
LACONIA, NH– The Fifth Annual Bay State Audio & Media Golf Tournament recently raised an impressive $14,800 for the Anderson Pharmacy Fund at LRGHealthcare.
The fund was established by Jerry & Lynn Anderson in 2000, while Lynn was undergoing chemotherapy for cancer at Lakes Region General Hospital. During her treatment Lynn overheard another patient discussing how hard it was for him to pay for necessary medications—in some instances he could not afford them. Shortly thereafter Lynn and Jerry established the Anderson Pharmacy Fund to ensure that LRGHealthcare oncology patients would not have these worries; they wanted to help guarantee patients would be able to afford necessary care.
In its fifth year, the event honors Jerry Anderson who lost his courageous battle with cancer in 2005. Over the years the event has raised over $65,000 for cancer patients in this community.
“The entire Anderson Family and the many golfers and participants of this event are truly making a difference in the lives of people throughout our community who are fighting cancer,” says LRGHealthcare President & CEO Tom Clairmont. “We are grateful for their incredible support, and this generous donation to the Anderson Pharmacy Fund will go a long way in helping LRGHealthcare to provide medication and care to those in need.”
You may make a tax-deductible donation any time of the year to the Anderson Pharmacy Fund by contacting the LRGHealthcare Office of Philanthropy: 737.1042 or philanthropy@lrgh.org
