SPREAD YOUR WINGS & SOAR SKATING SHOW COMING SOON!

LACONIA, NH– Purchase your tickets NOW for the Lakes Region’s premiere skating event of the season: Spread Your Wings and Soar 2009! Endorsed by Central NH Skating Academy, the show will take place on Saturday, November 7, 7:00 p.m. at the Laconia Ice Arena.

The Spread Your Wings & Soar Cancer Benefit program was founded seven years ago by skating coach Jen Kaminski, in loving memory of her Aunt Judi who passed away in the fall of 2002. Since that time, the event has been held each year in honor of someone who has inspired others through their battle with cancer. Proceeds will benefit the Oncology Department at LRGHealthcare.

“What is so special about this benefit is that we come together as skaters, families, and friends with love in our hearts for those who have felt the heartache of cancer,” expresses Kaminski. “I encourage people to attend the Spread your Wings and Soar Cancer event on November 7th. You can make a difference by supporting this truly magical night!”

Proceeds from the 2009 event are being donated to the Oncology Department at LRGHealthcare in honor of Kathy Waldron, RN, BS. As Vice President of Clinical Services & Chief Nursing Executive at LRGHealthcare, Kathy has devoted her entire professional career to caring for others and facilitating advances in healthcare. “Kathy’s accomplishments are admirable. However, what is truly inspiring is that she has continued to achieve so much despite being faced with overwhelming obstacles while battling cancer through the years. Her courage, dedication, and desire to live life to the fullest are successes to be celebrated,” explains Stacy Sorrell, LRGHealthcare colleague and one of the skating show event planners.

Tickets to the show are $10 in advance, and may be purchased at the Laconia Ice Arena or the LRGH Gift Shop. General admission tickets will also be available the night of the show for $15.
